The RockQuest Story
In 1995, Ed Neyra purchased a property that happened to have a 4 story brick building which had housed the power plant for the adjacent factory. He and his 2 young sons saw a place for people to come together to have fun, learn, and push themselves to new limits, so RockQuest was born. In the years since we have evolved with the sport and the climbing industry as a whole while maintaining the fundamental focus on personal growth and growth within the community. With about 15,000 square feet of climbing surface, there is something for beginners and experienced climbers alike.
The climbing community in and around Cincinnati is a special and wonderful group of people. We, have had the distinct honor of having front row seats to seeing this community grow and change, as the sport of climbing has evolved over time. We’ve seen everything from belay devices to belay techniques change. We’ve seen shoes get better, ropes get lighter, the Red get more developed, grades get harder, and climbers get stronger.
We’ve been there for births, for weddings, for deaths, and everything in between. We’ve been a shoulder to cry on when worlds are crumbling and climbing is the only constant. We’ve seen fears faced and conquered daily. We’ve seen kids who don’t fit in anywhere, feel at home. We’ve seen medical breakthroughs, injuries, tragedies, and triumphs.
We’ve seen beautiful souls find their way and go out into the world, confident that they can land on their feet, and come back to see us after they have. Our hearts are full of the people and stories we’ve personally seen through the years and to say we are thankful for them really just doesn’t cover it. It's a crazy, wonderful honor to be a part of this community.
